what now?

a few more posts will come your way in the next few days, filling in some of the gaps. thanks again for all your prayers and support.

home…

we pulled in around 5:15, safe and sound. no issues with vans, tires, or passports. God is faithful.

back in the USA…

we’ve made it safely to the border and are in the U.S. after eating lunch in eagle pass we will have a brief share time with the other teams and head for home.

adios…

our goal is to be rolling toward home by 8:00 this morning, which SHOULD put us at the border by 1:00. we are going to make our way back out and pick up the other teams as we go, so you just never know how long that will take. I’ll post once we hit eagle pass.

tuesday update…

today we are working in three different places. one group is continuing at peniel, beautifying the sanctuary and working on the pews. another group is out visiting the sick at local hospitals with church members at eben-ezer. the last group is doing some repair and upkeep work on the facilities at casa hogar galilea, a children’s home here in monclova. here are some pics…

happy trees…

today we paint…

sunday recap…

it has been a really amazing Easter Sunday for us in monclova. we attended worship services at peniel, eben-ezer, and monte sinai in lamadrid. singing “Jesus is alive” is incredible in english, but hearing it in another language makes it hit you differently. below are some pics that reflect our day in part. one is a shot of johnny wilmore sharing his life story as part of hank’s sermon. the others are of the church building in lamadrid, and the completed basketball court we helped start building a few years ago.

Jesus is Alive!!!

we will celebrate the resurrection with our friends in monclova, but our hearts will also be with our families and churches back home. it’s strange to be away on Easter Sunday, but very unifying at the same time. we have already been to one service today (6:00am… mom would be proud) and we have two more to go (10:00am & 6:00pm). this afternoon we will canvas the area around peniel and invite them to the VBS this week. we hope you all have a blessed day!

more about saturday…

we continue to see God’s goodness through our amazing friends in monclova. they always treat us like family, which blesses us more than they realize. the pics below give you two images that describe our day. the crew at peniel started painting the church… yes, the entire church. by the time we leave it will look like new! the other pic is the eben-ezer team as they prepare to go out. they joined forces with several church members and went door-to-door in the neighborhood, sharing about Christ and praying with the community.

saturday…

today we are divided into two teams. one is starting some “beautification” work at peniel, and the other is canvassing the neighborhood around eben-ezer. after a long day, we plan to all meet up tonight for dinner at peniel.
